A HIGH-TECH SOLUTION

Technical operation of structural mobility

The 2POOLSIN1 concept combines construction principles and techniques well-known and proven over many years to create the sought-after mobility.

Structural mobility has been known and used for millennia all over the world. The Egyptians and Gauls used logs to move blocks weighing hundreds of tons over long distances.

In more recent history, in the field of engineering structures, bridges weighing thousands of tons are pushed into the void to avoid constructing them at great heights (for example, the Garabit bridge built by Gustave Eiffel, the Millau Viaduct built by the Eiffage Group, etc.).

With regard to building structures, this includes the retractable roof on the Philippe Chatrier court at Roland Garros.

In the 2POOLSIN1 concept, the weight of the structures being moved is limited to a few dozen tons or even a few tons.

What is important is to ensure stability and bracing before, during and after relocation of the moving structures. Accommodation of loads under extreme wind conditions is guaranteed in the two positions of the mobile part.

In the event of a breakdown of the translation system during movement, a troubleshooting solution is provided to return the mobile structure to one of two positions, open or closed.

Through its partners, the 2POOLSIN1 company brings together experienced players from the construction sector in order to guarantee the reliability and safety of a project.

Construction deadlines

The techniques proposed by 2POOLSIN1 are proven and result in very short construction lead times. A duration of 2 to 3 months depending on the type of concept used is possible.

Technologies and materials: a high-quality choice

Whether in terms of technical solutions, implemented technologies or design materials, 2POOLSIN1 is committed to providing high quality and precision to ensure the durability of its mobile pools

Design materials

The 2POOLSIN1 concept is mainly based on 3 key materials, reinforced concrete, steel and wood, which are used for the construction of the load-bearing structures and braces.

The solidity and adaptability of reinforced concrete allow for the installation of the project in any site and ground using slabs, walls and stringers which serve as supports for the visible elements of the pool.

In the event of the bearing capacity of the ground not being sufficient, screwed piles are used which make it possible to transmit loads to the ground while guaranteeing construction deadlines.

Steel structures are used to support the transported envelope, these structures being first used to make the slide ways, and then to design the frame that will support and brace the mobile structure. The use of wood allows to create an insulating envelope which is sufficiently deformable to absorb the movements of the mobile part.

Secondary materials and equipment

There are numerous secondary materials and equipment. Here below is a non-exhaustive list of them.

Concept design and study

Architectural study

Our partner Art’Ur examines the aesthetic aspect, the integration of the concept and the project into the existing environment.

A building permit is filed; after issuance of the latter, the following investigations are carried out:

Soil survey: A soil survey is carried out by a specialized company and includes surveys carried out on site.

Reinforced concrete study: The study of the reinforced concrete structures is carried out by a specialized design office.

Study of the structure of the mobile part and of the movement devices

The structure of the project and the adapted movement devices are studied by the Michel Legras Design Office which is specialized and experienced in the field of mechanical translation designs.
